Ingredients
Scale
- 500g chicken breast or thighs (finely chopped or ground)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar (or mozzarella mix)
- 2 medium eggs
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
- 1 small onion, finely diced or grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
- ½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Olive oil or butter (for frying)
Instructions
- Finely chop or grind chicken, then pat dry with a paper towel.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken, cheese, onion, garlic, herbs, salt, and spices.
- Add eggs, flour, and breadcrumbs. Mix until the batter holds together.
- Shape into small patties or fritters using a spoon or your hands.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry fritters for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Alternatively, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Chill the mixture for 10–15 minutes before cooking for better shape retention.
- Swap cheddar with mozzarella for gooier fritters.
- For a healthier option, bake or air fry instead of deep frying.
- Great for meal prep—store in the fridge for 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
